Men's Sportwear Trends Fall Winter 2012/13

Trend Forecast F/W 2012-13.

Sippo Trend Forecasting

Designs

Needle and regiment stripes, window and shadow checks, blanket

checks, dark tartans, Prince-of-Wales, Pied de Poule, graphic prints and colour blockings.

Bright, vibrant and dynamic, this theme features colour in

modern 3D optics. Influences from the seventies, especially

from the “British eccentric”, become very visible. Clean and

functional designs are combined with pop-art and colourful

active-wear ideas. Silhouettes are based on colour and materials’

mixtures, clear shapes and contrasts: boxy with slim,

colourful with neutral. Coats, bright knits, relaxed tailoring

and hybrid sports-wear characterize this look. Glossy pads,

trimmings, accessories and poster-like prints serve as accents.

Fabrics thrive on contrast: wool, double cloth, singlecoloured

structures with high-tech, coloured nappa leather,

bright checks and graphic prints. The palette tends to urban,

neutral tones or poster-like multicoloured combinations.

Styles

Bright-coloured parkas, wool cabans, zipped lumbers, duffle

coats, coats with stand-up collars, leather coats in blazer styles,

blousons with materials’ mixtures, slim wool vests, tuxedo types

with contrasting lapels, double-breasted designs with paletots,

checked jackets worn with slim, short trousers, wide trousers, checked

and leather pants, shirts with colour blockings, bright checks,

T-shirts with baroque prints. Knits in bright, single colours, with

structures, colour blockings, checks, cardigans with contrasting

pads and shawl collars, round necks and V-necks.

grey, black, cement and white.
